Day 7 : 1400 years of First Amongst Equals - Jiang Village
by Di Grobbler

25 April 2006 (Day 7)

“Did you notice, while standing in the main door of the Ancestor Hall, Community Hall and Jiang Fu shrine, that there seem to be sections cut out of the surrounding buildings? This is so that the main door can tap directly to certain mountains in the spiral city, collecting the Qi in their individual Bright Halls” said Joey during our visit to Jiang Village today. Several vantage points were chosen for the visit, including a clutch of houses and of course, the town hall.

Jiang Village is very different than the previous villages the Excursion has visited. This village is generally untouched by tourism or commercialisation with a relatively large population living in architecture that has been unchanged largely for the last 1400 years.

The has consistently produced ministers, high ranking imperial officers and even prime ministers for the last 1400 years! Jiang Village's LATEST famous son is Jiang Ze Min, who was President of the People’s Republic of China from 1993-2003 and prior to that, was the Mayor of Shanghai. This is a feat that cannot be achieved using modern day systems like Eight Mansions or Flying Stars, but instead requires ‘real meat’ Feng Shui of powerful environmental forms.

A hint was given to students at the start of their arrival to Jiang Village. The analysis for the village, which has around 2000 residents (mostly surnamed Jiang) could essentially be obvious and visible at the entrance of the village. If students didn’t see anything by then, chances are, they had already missed the wood for the trees. Joey made this very clear at the start of the audit for this village.

Like Father, Like Son

There was much debate amongst the students, during their group sessions, as they audited the area in teams, as to whether the main mountain was a Military Arts mountain or a Tan Lang. “If you don’t know the grandfather, then look at the grandson,” hinted Joey.

The Table Mountain that was locking in the Qi was clearly a Metal mountain so it was therefore clear and undisputable that that the village was tapping to a Military Arts mountain - a “Long Lau” or Bell Dragon. The Water Mouth had interlocking mountains holding in the Qi. Behind the main mountain was a Huge Door mountain which, was mirrored next to the Table mountain in the vicinity. Amazing how the location of th is specific mountain fits to a special formula based assessment.

The Long Lao (Huge single mountain, dragon pavilion) formation is notably the main 'source' of Qi Right behind that, is the HuangShan ranges - the ancestor mountains that feed this source of Qi. There are strong 'ranges' with notable peaks, ensuring the 'lasting' Qi for the last 1400 years.

The very obvious sleeping Tan Lang (Rue Yi) was easily picked up and very noticeable, as was the Elegant Cover and the many layers of Huge Door and Military Arts high level dragons, as they descend to become mid-level dragons. To improve the landform, a man-made pool was constructed to arbitrate between the Tan Lang and Military Arts mountain, to highly effective outcomes.

One burning question arose: if the Feng Shui of the area was so good, why did the residents leave the village to pursue their fortunes? Again, the answer to this lay in the embrace and surrounding forms, which produced outstanding military leaders, who would rise to positions of status and power, through battle and war. Accordingly, it makes sense that their fortunes would be made, away from the village, since people commonly ‘go away to war’.

An interesting nugget of trivia offers an insight into Jiang Village’s unblemished record in producing exceptional individuals. The village's founding father was actually a FENG SHUI master. This is recorded in one of the City Halls (Ci Tang). The ability to find an area with such incredible and powerful Feng Shui formations is indeed quite a feat and certainly, a testament to his skill.

The first part of the 2006 China Excursion thus comes to an end tonight, with the students having packed 7 days of Yin and Yang House Feng Shui, with visits to some parts of China that few can claim to have laid eyes on, and experienced Feng Shui at a level that only Walking the Dragons in person permits. Tomorrow, the Excursion group moves to the Manchu capital city, Shen Yang.
