Day 5 : Our Caravan Moves On |
| |
23 April 2006 (Day 5)
Day 5 was spent travelling and it was a welcome break for many students. The intensive programs at the various sites that had been visited over over the last four days provided the students with an abundance of information and many took the opportunity today to revise all that they had learnt.
The students woke up early to leave Thang Sha for a flight to Hangzhou. It was an uneventful flight with most of the students dozing through it but the real surprise was upon arrival at Hangzhou.
|
The ride through Hangzhou took the students through some breathtaking scenery; the West Lake area had some fascinating Feng Shui landform and an interesting Pagoda that had the students breaking out their cameras.
The bus stopped for lunch before continuing on to Anhui. This four hour bus ride was punctuated with lots of interesting sights along the way, with many hills and mountains creating special Feng Shui formations that had the students in excited discussions.
The students also took the chance to discuss the BaZi experience with one another and compare the unique charts that they had discovered in their BaZi practice.
Post-dinner, the students got a sample of China's rich culture and art scene. They visited Lau Jie, a quaint little street with lots of old shops selling tea, arts and handicrafts - many handmade in Lau Jie itself. There were also stone carvings and if you wanted, you could have your name done in calligraphy for a token sum. Now comes the punchline - this street has been pretty much the same for the last 800 years!
The students managed to do a little shopping before heading back to the hotel for some much-needed rest. Day 6 was only hours away and it promised lots of more exciting adventure and suspense.
